And from the dark secluded valleys

I heard the ancient songs of sadness

But every step I thought of you

    Every footstep only you

And every star a grain of sand

The leavings of a dried up ocean

    How much longer?

The must-see show tonight in Ashvegas: T Model Ford at the Grey Eagle

If you want to see one of the last great Mississippi blues men, then get your heine down to the Grey Eagle tonight to see T Model Ford. He's a legend. Do not miss this. I'm telling you.

July 3 - 9PM Asheville, Grey Eagle. Blues singer and guitarist T-Model Ford was born as James Lewis Carter Ford in 1924 in the small rural town of Forest, Mississippi. By age eleven T-Model was plowing a field behind a mule on his family's farm. Ford got a job at a local saw mill in his early teens. T-Model eventually secured an even better job as a truck driver for a bigger lumber company. Moreover, Ford was sentenced to a chain gang for ten years for murder. Luckily, he was released after serving only two years of his sentence. Tickets:$10 advance / $12 day of show.

T-Model is the last of the original N. Mississippi Hill Country style blues players. I've seen him before, but I still hated to be out of town and miss this.
