Tonight in Swannanoa: Groovin' on Grovemont

WHAT:  7th ANNUAL GROOVIN' ON GROVEMONT SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

A benefit for two Swannanoa non-profits:  The Friends of the Swannanoa Library and the Swannanoa Emergency Assistance Program (a program of the Swannanoa Community Council)

WHEN: Tuesdays, July 14, July 28, and August 11 - 6pm each evening

WHERE: Grovemont Square adjacent to the Swannanoa Library, 101 West Charleston Ave, Swannanoa, NC, 28778

DETAILS: The Friends of the Swannanoa Library and the Swannanoa Community Council present the 7th annual Groovin' on Grovemont summer concert series in Grovemont Square adjacent to the Swannanoa Library. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and come enjoy these family-friendly evenings of great music! The series is free and open to the public. Pizza and baked goods will be available for sale. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Swannanoa Library and the Swannanoa Emergency Assistance Program.

Admission to Groovin' on Grovemont is free, but donations are always welcome. Individual and business sponsorship opportunities are still available. To inquire, please email Groovin@iLoveTheLibrary.org or call (828) 250-6486.

The Barrel House Mamas 

The Barrel House Mamas conjure the sweet and sultry sounds of the southern Appalachian mountains in their robust vocals and original songs. Come share this roots-pure experience with hints of Appalachian old time, classic folk, blues, country, and a bit of swing.

Tuesday, July 28 at 6pm

 The Groovemont Players

This collection of Swannanoa-based players represents a "who's who" of regional talent, performing a mix of rock, soul, blues, and beyond!

The Firecracker Jazz Band 

The Firecracker Jazz Band revitalizes the roots of Jazz. In homage to Dixieland and New Orleans, the Firecrackers carry the torch lit by such greats as Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong & Bix Beiderbeck.

Bonus feature:  GIANT HALF PRICE BOOK SALE during each Groovin', 5pm - 8pm at the Swannanoa Library Thousands of great books at unbelievably low prices!
