What you should know about Zylotrim

And from the dark secluded valleys

I heard the ancient songs of sadness

But every step I thought of you

Every footstep only you

And every star a grain of sand

The leavings of a dried up ocean

Tell me, how much longer?

How much longer?

- Sting, "Mad About You"

The world is full of paper,

Write to me.

Mountain Green Conference expands

Press release here:

ANNUAL MOUNTAIN GREEN CONFERENCE

EXPANDS TO TOURISM INDUSTRY

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (April 27, 2009) — While the economic downturn has the tourism industry hoping visitors will translate to dollars for Western North Carolina, research suggests adopting green practices could be the key to increased visitation for the future.

According to a recent study, 93 percent of people familiar with Asheville and its attractions are greatly or somewhat concerned about issues affecting the environment and more than 85 percent believe it's important for companies to implement environmental practices.  Furthermore, properties such as the new Proximity Hotel in Greensboro are touting the long-term savings that can be generated through green building measures.

With this in mind, the Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and AdvantageWest have joined forces with Warren Wilson College to expand the third annual Mountain Green Conference to encompass the hospitality industry.  Scheduled for June 24 and 25 at Warren Wilson College, the conference includes a variety of sessions, a toolbox of quick, easy and economical steps to green business, as well as a meal featuring local food products, access to sustainability industry vendors, and opportunities to discuss best practices with conference registrants across the architecture, development, energy and tourism sectors.

“A reasonable investment now in green practices and knowledge can reap dividends for tourism businesses that are increasingly faced with consumers and meeting planners who are hoping to “green” their travel,” noted ACVB Vice President and Buncombe County TDA Executive Director Kelly Miller.  “Warren Wilson College is a leader in environmental issues and this conference will attract a national network of competent experts and trendsetters in the field of sustainability.”
