Skydiving simulator in Haywood County offers flying fun
Tuesday, December 1, 2009
Loyal reader Chris passes along a fun family outing:
My kids took a group of us on Saturday to a place in Haywood County called
Appalachian Amusement Center. It simulates skydiving by means of a giant
electric fan blowing straight up at hurricane force speed. With the help
of a couple of their assistants you float in the air much the same way you
would if you were skydiving. Pretty cool sensation and no need for a
parachute.
They are located at exit 20 off I-40. This is the last exit before the
road is closed due to the rock slide. Their website is
www.verticalwind.com (828) 926-WIND.
Thanks Chris!
